If you are an online article author, perhaps you are having trouble trying to figure out what to write about. After all, it certainly doesn’t take someone very long or that many articles until you run through everything that you know about, or everything that you think they know that.  naija news You see, people learn a lot, observe a lot, and educate themselves quite a bit during their life experience. In fact, sometimes you don’t realize how much you know, and therefore it’s difficult to continue to write more articles.

One strategy I’ve come up with to make sure that I am able to come up with new articles each and every day to write about; is to scan the news, and read the headlines. I don’t bother reading the entire article if it is a topic that I’m well-versed in, rather I read the article title in the news, and then think about that concept, and then I go ahead and write about my thoughts which were triggered by that title. This works fairly well, especially if you are reading industry material in a sector of our economy that you have perhaps participated in for 20 or 30 years.

Let me give you a for instance. Prior to retirement, I was in the car wash industry, and recently, I read a headline that talked about a vehicle which went out of control and hit a carwash, unfortunately killing a worker and a patron. Rather than reading the article, because I don’t want to read anything that negative, I began to think about all the dangerous experiences I’ve encountered in the industry. Things such as runaway cars where a car wasn’t put into “park” properly, and it started to move forward.

Indeed, I also thought about how important it is to hookup the car onto the conveyor belt properly, so it doesn’t jog sideways, and bind itself up in the equipment breaking equipment, and damaging the customer’s car. I also recalled a retaining wall that once fell over because it had rotted out inside from being over watered, and cars backing into it. Therefore, I got three article ideas out of reading that headline. Do you see how this works now?

You’d be surprised, how your mind will start thinking just by reading news headlines in trade journals, online news, brochures, pamphlets, and other writing in your industry. Sure enough, it will always trigger a new thought, thus, a new article. It’s one of the best ways to get over writer’s block that I’ve ever come across. As an article author you should consider this.
